We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our fast-paced operations team in Hillsborough, Sheffield. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming goods against purchase orders, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Maintain precise inventory records using our warehouse management system (WMS), ensuring real-time accuracy.
- Perform regular stock counts and reconciliations, investigating and resolving any variances promptly.
- Organise and manage stock within the warehouse for optimal space utilisation, accessibility, and safety.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, ensuring products are correctly picked, packed, and labelled according to dispatch procedures.
- Coordinate with logistics partners and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient dispatch of orders.
- Monitor stock levels and liaise with procurement to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Identify and report slow-moving or obsolete stock, proposing solutions for inventory optimisation.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards within the warehouse environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within stock control and dispatch operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Stock Controller, Inventory Clerk, or similar role.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to perform accurate stock counts and reconciliations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift truck licence (reach and/or counterbalance).
- Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Knowledge of lean inventory principles.
- Understanding of supply chain logistics and best practices.
- A levels or equivalent qualification.
