Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload delivery trucks, verifying contents against invoices and delivery notes.
- Efficiently unpack merchandise and accurately place it on designated shelves according to store planograms and visual merchandising standards.
- Rotate stock diligently to ensure older products are sold first (FIFO principle) and maintain freshness standards, especially for perishable goods.
- Monitor and proactively identify, remove, and report expired, damaged, or recalled products from shelves and storage areas.
- Ensure shelves are consistently clean, tidy, well-organized, and products are front-faced and neatly arranged for optimal customer accessibility and appeal.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and hazard-free store environment, including aisles, storage rooms, and back-of-house areas.
- Support inventory counts and assist with stock-taking procedures as required by store management.
- Provide basic assistance and direction to customers by guiding them to specific products or store sections when needed, maintaining a helpful demeanor.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise (up to 20kg) frequently throughout a shift.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, reaching, and stocking.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock placement, rotation, and product identification.
- Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers.
