Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently transport merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional areas are consistently stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
- Rotate stock to ensure older products are sold first (FIFO – First-In, First-Out) to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Assist in receiving and unpacking deliveries, verifying quantities against invoices, and safely moving products to the stockroom.
- Accurately price and label products as required, ensuring compliance with store pricing policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized stockroom and sales floor, adhering to all health and safety guidelines and company standards.
- Assist customers with locating products and provide basic assistance when needed, directing them to appropriate staff for more complex inquiries.
- Operate equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary).
- Report any damaged goods, stock discrepancies, or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Support inventory counts and assist with merchandising efforts as directed by store management.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and maintain a high level of customer service.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately and efficiently.
