Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy.
- Accurately apply price tags, security tags, and other required labels to merchandise according to company standards.
- Organize and maintain the stockroom, ensuring all products are stored safely, efficiently, and are easily accessible.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare merchandise for transfer or replenishment to the sales floor as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding stock levels and incoming shipments.
- Operate basic stockroom equipment safely and efficiently, as required (e.g., pallet jack – training provided if needed).
- Assist with other stockroom or operational duties as assigned to support overall business needs.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions in English.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry (training provided).
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or stockroom environment (even short-term or volunteer).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or point-of-sale (POS) software.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions meticulously.
