Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Store Inventory Assistant to join our growing team in Achara Layout, Enugu. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels, and supporting the smooth operation of our store. As a Store Inventory Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in managing the flow of products from receiving to dispatch, directly impacting our efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a blend of physical inventory management and data entry, requiring both diligence and a keen eye for accuracy. You’ll be the backbone of our stockroom, ensuring that every item is accounted for and readily available. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming merchandise, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders.
- Organize and maintain the stockroom, ensuring items are stored efficiently and safely.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
- Process outbound shipments, accurately picking, packing, and preparing items for delivery or transfer.
- Utilize inventory management software to update stock levels, track movements, and generate reports.
- Identify and report slow-moving or damaged stock, assisting in proper disposal or return procedures.
- Assist with stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure product freshness where applicable.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to forecast inventory needs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the stockroom and receiving areas.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to inventory control and safety.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory management, retail, or a similar warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and physical counting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise, sometimes heavy, and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with specific inventory management software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar POS systems).
- Familiarity with safety procedures in a warehouse or retail stockroom setting.
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
