Job Description
As a Store Supervisor specializing in Retail and Inventory at Courts Mammouth in Ébène, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our retail outlet, with a particular focus on the meticulous management of our valuable inventory. This position is ideal for a proactive and experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and possesses a keen eye for detail when it comes to stock control. You will be instrumental in overseeing daily store activities, leading a dedicated team of retail assistants, and guaranteeing an exceptional customer experience. Your responsibilities will span from maintaining impeccable store standards and optimizing product displays to implementing robust inventory management systems that minimize discrepancies and maximize stock availability. You will monitor sales performance, manage stock replenishment, conduct regular inventory audits, and ensure compliance with all operational procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, store presentation, and merchandising.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of retail assistants, providing training and constructive feedback to achieve sales targets and operational excellence.
- Manage all aspects of inventory control, including receiving, stocking, replenishment, transfers, and processing customer returns.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies to maintain accurate records in the system.
- Implement and enforce inventory management best practices to minimize loss, optimize stock levels, and ensure efficient stock rotation.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop strategies to boost sales and product turnover.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and all relevant health & safety regulations within the store and warehouse areas.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and provide effective resolutions to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Prepare and submit accurate operational reports on sales, inventory levels, staff performance, and other key metrics.
- Coordinate effectively with suppliers, logistics teams, and other departments for timely product delivery, stock movements, and promotional activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in retail operations and inventory management.
- Strong leadership, team management, and delegation abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to analyze sales data and make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills in stock control.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for integrated inventory management.
- In-depth knowledge of local retail market trends and consumer behavior in Mauritius.
- Certification in First Aid or Fire Safety.
- Fluency in both English and French (Mauritian Creole also an advantage for customer interaction).
