Agrinet, a leading wholesale distributor of agricultural, irrigation, hardware, and garden products across Southern Africa, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Storekeeper and Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic team in Potchefstroom. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance of goods according to company procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through meticulous data entry and regular stock counts (cycle counts, physical inventories).
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in stock levels, reporting any issues to management.
- Organise and maintain the warehouse layout for optimal space utilisation and efficient workflow.
- Prepare and package orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently (if certified).
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly followed within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with purchasing and sales departments to forecast demand and manage stock replenishment.
- Implement and maintain quality control standards for incoming and outgoing products.
- Assist in the development and improvement of inventory control processes and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in storekeeping, warehousing, or inventory control (minimum 2 years).
- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite, especially Excel).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification in Inventory Management or Logistics.
- Valid forklift operator's license.
- Experience in a distribution centre environment, preferably within agricultural or hardware sectors.
