Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Storekeeper Inventory Control professional to join our team in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient management of all inventory within our facility, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and optimal stock levels. You will be the cornerstone of our supply chain operations, meticulously tracking goods from reception to dispatch, and implementing best practices for inventory management. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and quality standards.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse and storage areas for efficient space utilization and easy access to inventory.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to track stock movements, levels, and locations.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare and issue materials, tools, and equipment to various departments as per approved requisitions.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify reorder points, communicating needs to the procurement department.
  • Manage returns and damaged goods, ensuring proper documentation and processing.
  • Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification preferred).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Generate inventory reports and provide insights to management on stock performance and potential improvements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a storekeeping or inventory control role.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 kg) and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid South African driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Experience with ERP systems for inventory management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
