Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and experienced Storekeeper with a strong focus on Inventory Management and Supply to join our thriving team in Headingley, Leeds. As a Storekeeper, you will be the linchpin in our stockroom operations, responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of goods, along with meticulous record-keeping and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the receiving, unpacking, checking, and storing of incoming materials and goods.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using our digital inventory management system.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Organize and maintain the storeroom in a clean, safe, and orderly manner, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Process requisitions and issue materials to various departments, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Monitor stock levels and collaborate with procurement to initiate reorders, preventing stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Implement and improve inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Prepare periodic reports on stock movement, consumption, and inventory status.
  • Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment safely, if certified.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries, as required.
  • Ensure all goods are stored under appropriate conditions to prevent damage or deterioration.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Storekeeper or in a similar inventory management role.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse/storeroom environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift operator certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck).
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Warehousing and Storage or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics.
