Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Storekeeper to join our growing team in Kingston upon Hull. This vital full-time position is central to ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods, playing a crucial role in our inventory management and supply chain operations. As a Storekeeper, you will be responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching of a wide range of materials and products, maintaining optimal stock levels, and ensuring the integrity of our inventory data.
Your day-to-day will involve meticulous record-keeping, utilising our inventory management system to track stock movements and conducting regular stock counts to verify accuracy. You’ll be the first point of contact for deliveries, ensuring all incoming goods match purchase orders and are free from damage before being correctly stored. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring items are packed safely and labelled correctly for transport. This role demands a proactive individual with a strong commitment to safety standards, operational efficiency, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Organise and store materials and products in designated locations, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
- Pick, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch according to sales orders or internal requisitions.
- Maintain precise inventory records using our management system, performing regular stock checks and reconciliations.
- Monitor stock levels, identify discrepancies, and report shortages or excesses to management.
- Ensure the cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the storeroom and surrounding work areas.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and efficiently.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles as required.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with purchasing, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Operative, or similar role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software/systems.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack).
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Understanding of health and safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
