Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, diligent, and physically capable Storekeeper to join our operations team in Belle Rose, Quatre Bornes. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient flow of goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and safeguarding our valuable stock. This role is crucial to our supply chain, directly impacting our ability to serve customers promptly and effectively. As a Storekeeper, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our inventory, from receiving incoming shipments, meticulously inspecting items for quality and quantity, and ensuring proper storage, to accurately issuing goods to various departments or for customer delivery. You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, performing regular stock counts, and investigating discrepancies to ensure data integrity. This position requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team. You will be expected to utilize inventory management software, adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, and contribute to a tidy and efficient warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Accurately record all stock movements (inwards and outwards) using the company's inventory management system.
- Organize and store goods in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling, accessibility, and optimal space utilization.
- Issue materials and products to authorized personnel or departments based on requisitions, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts (cycle counts and annual stocktakes) and reconcile with system records, investigating and reporting variances.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified) safely and efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels and report low stock items or potential shortages to the procurement team.
- Assist in the preparation of goods for dispatch or delivery, ensuring correct packaging and labeling.
- Collaborate with other departments, including sales, procurement, and logistics, to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper or in a similar inventory management role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent.
