Naivas Supermarket, a leading and rapidly expanding retail chain in Kenya, is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Storekeeper with expertise in Stock Control and Warehouse Management to join our dynamic team in Umoja, Nairobi. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, store, and issue goods, supplies, and equipment in the warehouse, ensuring accuracy against invoices and purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through a systematic stock control system, including regular data entry and updates.
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile with system records, investigating and reporting any discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage, organization, and rotation of stock to minimize spoilage, damage, and obsolescence.
- Prepare and compile various reports, including inventory levels, stock movement, and stock aging reports.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of deliveries, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently.
- Implement and maintain warehouse safety and security procedures.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to optimize stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Monitor and control access to the warehouse and stock areas.
- Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in a retail environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations for warehouse operations.
- Valid forklift operation certificate (an added advantage).
