Key Responsibilities
- Manage, organize, and maintain inventory of all studio equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, grip, etc.) using designated systems.
- Perform routine cleaning, testing, and basic troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare comprehensive equipment packages for various shoots, verifying all components are present, functional, and charged.
- Assist with the efficient setup and strike of equipment on set, following safety protocols and production schedules.
- Track equipment usage, rentals, and returns accurately through our inventory management software.
- Identify and promptly report damaged or malfunctioning equipment for professional repair or replacement.
- Ensure the studio and equipment storage areas are kept consistently clean, tidy, and safely organized.
- Collaborate effectively with production teams to understand and anticipate equipment needs for upcoming projects.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and best practices for equipment handling, storage, and studio operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in equipment handling, logistics, or inventory management, preferably within a studio or production environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of camera, lighting, and audio equipment functionality and terminology.
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software or similar tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong teamwork.
- A proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or certification in film production, media arts, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with specific professional production equipment brands (e.g., Arri, RED, Blackmagic, Aputure, Sennheiser).
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Basic First Aid certification.
