Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Studio Post-Production Specialist to join our creative team in Vanier, Ottawa. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bringing our diverse projects to life, transforming raw footage and audio into polished, captivating visual and auditory experiences. As our Studio Post-Production Specialist, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of post-production tasks, working closely with producers, directors, and other creative personnel to ensure the highest quality output. Your daily tasks will range from meticulous video editing, precise color grading, and dynamic motion graphics creation to sophisticated sound design and final mastering. We are looking for an individual who not only has a strong technical foundation in industry-standard software but also possesses a keen artistic eye and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You’ll manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring all deliverables meet brand guidelines, technical specifications, and are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive video editing, assembling raw footage into a compelling and cohesive narrative.
  • Execute advanced color correction and grading to achieve desired visual tones and consistency across projects.
  • Design and implement motion graphics, visual effects (VFX), and animated elements to enhance storytelling.
  • Conduct audio editing, mixing, and sound design to create immersive and impactful soundscapes.
  • Ensure all final deliverables meet required technical specifications, broadcast standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and organize media assets, project files, and archives efficiently.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot post-production equipment and software.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, software advancements, and new post-production techniques.
  • Provide creative input and problem-solving solutions during all stages of post-production.

Required Skills

  • Proven proficiency in non-linear editing (NLE) software, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Expertise in Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and visual effects.
  • Strong understanding of color theory and practical experience with color grading tools.
  • Solid knowledge of audio editing and mixing principles, preferably with Adobe Audition or similar.
  • Familiarity with various video codecs, file formats, and delivery specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Film, Television Production, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Experience with 3D animation software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender).
  • Portfolio or reel showcasing relevant post-production work.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and workflows.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset for our Ottawa location.
