Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and passionate Studio Sound Technician looking for an immediate opportunity to make a significant impact? This is a critical role that will see you taking the lead on all aspects of audio production within our studio environment, from initial recording to final mix and master. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain studio audio equipment, including microphones, mixing consoles, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and signal processors.
- Record, edit, mix, and master audio for various projects, including video productions, podcasts, voiceovers, and live streams.
- Set up and test audio equipment for studio sessions, ensuring optimal performance and sound quality.
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and talent to understand and achieve desired audio outcomes.
- Conduct sound checks and monitor audio levels during recording to prevent distortion and ensure clarity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio equipment and software promptly.
- Implement best practices for audio workflow, file management, and archiving.
- Stay updated with new audio technologies, software, and industry trends.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe studio environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or similar.
- Strong understanding of audio recording, mixing, and mastering techniques.
- Expertise in microphone selection, placement, and soundproofing.
- Solid knowledge of audio signal flow and connectivity.
- Ability to troubleshoot audio hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a critical ear for sound quality.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Experience with live sound mixing and broadcast audio.
- Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) for audio post-production integration.
- Portfolio or reel showcasing previous audio engineering and production work.
