Job Description

You will be instrumental in the entire video production lifecycle, from conceptualising initial ideas alongside our creative directors, to meticulously shooting high-quality video content primarily within our state-of-the-art studio environment. Your expertise will also extend to dynamic on-location shoots when required, capturing diverse perspectives and settings that enrich our narratives. We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes video, possesses an almost obsessive keen eye for detail in every single frame, understands advanced lighting setups for various moods and products, ensures crystal-clear audio through meticulous sound engineering, and applies impeccable composition implicitly to every shot. Proficiency with modern video production equipment, including high-end cameras, advanced stabilisers, professional audio gear, and a comprehensive understanding of post-production software suites (especially the Adobe Creative Cloud) is absolutely essential. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain professional video cameras, lighting equipment, audio recording devices, and other studio gear.
- Setup and breakdown studio lighting, backdrops, and sets for various video productions.
- Collaborate with clients, creative directors, and marketing teams to understand project requirements and vision.
- Capture high-quality video footage in a studio setting and on location as needed, ensuring optimal visual and audio fidelity.
- Direct talent, presenters, and subjects during shoots to achieve desired performance and visual impact.
- Edit raw footage into polished, engaging video content using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Incorporate motion graphics, sound design, music, and visual effects to enhance video quality and storytelling.
- Manage and organise video assets, ensuring efficient workflow, version control, and secure archiving.
- Conduct thorough equipment checks and proactively troubleshoot any technical issues during production.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in videography and video editing to maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure all final video outputs meet stringent quality standards, brand guidelines, and client expectations.
- Contribute creative ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions for new projects and campaigns.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Studio Videographer or similar role with a strong portfolio.
- Expert proficiency with professional video cameras (e.g., Blackmagic, Sony, Canon C-series, RED) and associated accessories.
- Strong understanding and practical application of studio lighting techniques, including 3-point lighting, creative lighting, and use of modifiers.
- Advanced skills in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) and colour grading tools (e.g., DaVinci Resolve).
- Solid knowledge of audio recording, mixing, sound design principles, and equipment.
- Excellent understanding of visual storytelling, composition, camera movement, and aesthetic principles.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for occasional off-site shoots.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, Cinematography, or a related field.
- Experience with 3D animation software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender) or advanced motion graphics.
- Knowledge of green screen techniques and virtual production workflows.
- Previous experience working in a creative agency or a corporate in-house media department.
- Certification in relevant Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Experience with drone operation (PfCO or A2 CofC desired).
