Key Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems and cash registers accurately and efficiently, processing all customer transactions.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of tender, ensuring proper reconciliation at shift end.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers with product inquiries, locating items, and resolving issues professionally.
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming merchandise, ensuring accuracy against delivery notes.
- Efficiently stock shelves, display racks, and promotional areas, adhering to merchandising guidelines and planograms.
- Monitor stock levels, identify low stock, and assist in preparing replenishment orders.
- Perform regular stock rotation (FIFO – First-In, First-Out) to ensure product freshness and minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and checkout area.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock audits as required.
- Ensure compliance with all store policies, health, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth store operations and achieve sales targets.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic mathematical aptitude for handling transactions and counting change.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (up to 20kg), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, supermarket, or customer service role.
- Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management basics.
- A secondary school certificate (Form V / SC or equivalent).
- Ability to converse in both English and French/Creole.
