Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health needs.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, promoting maximum independence.
- Support individuals in managing their medication safely and effectively, adhering to strict protocols.
- Facilitate and encourage social inclusion, community engagement, and participation in various activities and hobbies.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and other professionals.
- Implement and review individual care plans, ensuring they meet the evolving needs and preferences of residents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily notes and incident reports.
- Uphold the dignity, respect, and rights of all individuals under your care.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training and development programs.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable experience in a care or support role, preferably with adults with learning disabilities or mental health needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
