Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a Field Survey Assistant to join our dedicated teams working across Bridgeville, Delaware, and surrounding areas. No prior experience in surveying is required – we are committed to providing comprehensive, on-the-job training to equip you with all the skills needed to succeed in this vital role.
As a Survey Assistant, you will play a crucial part in various land surveying projects, working outdoors in diverse conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to assist our experienced Surveyors and Technicians in collecting accurate field data, setting up and operating surveying instruments, and ensuring the integrity of our project sites. This hands-on role offers a unique chance to learn about property boundaries, topographical features, construction layouts, and the foundational elements of land development.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Surveyors and Technicians in the precise setup and operation of surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and levels.
- Perform physical tasks such as carrying equipment, clearing brush, driving stakes, and digging test pits as required on job sites.
- Accurately record field data, measurements, and observations in notebooks or digital data collectors.
- Maintain and clean surveying instruments and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies while on fieldwork sites.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Transport equipment and personnel to and from various job sites in Bridgeville and surrounding areas.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and traverse uneven terrain.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
