Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Muncie, Indiana. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct various types of land surveys, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/ACSM, subdivision, and construction staking.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, data collectors, and levels.
  • Perform complex mathematical calculations and field adjustments to ensure accuracy of measurements.
  • Collect, record, and verify field data, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Process survey data using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) and other specialized applications.
  • Prepare clear and concise survey plats, maps, and reports, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Research property records, deeds, and historical survey data to establish property boundaries.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and other team members to meet project specifications and deadlines.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in all fieldwork and office activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal descriptions and other legal documents related to surveying projects.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in operating modern surveying equipment (total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, data collectors).
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles, practices, and legal aspects.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) for data processing and drafting.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for spatial computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex maps, deeds, and legal descriptions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform fieldwork in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Experience with LiDAR technology or drone surveying.
  • Familiarity with local Muncie/Indiana surveying regulations and permitting processes.
