Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive topographical, boundary, and measured building surveys using advanced surveying equipment (e.g., Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, Laser Scanners).
  • Process and analyze raw survey data using specialized software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, LSS) to produce accurate maps, plans, and 3D models.
  • Prepare detailed valuation reports for land and property assets, considering market trends, planning regulations, environmental factors, and relevant legal frameworks.
  • Undertake thorough site visits, perform reconnaissance, and liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies throughout project lifecycles.
  • Maintain meticulous records, manage project documentation, and ensure strict compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders and proposals, contributing to project planning, resource allocation, and budget estimation.
  • Provide expert advice on land tenure, property rights, boundary disputes, and land use planning to clients and internal teams.
  • Continuously research and implement new surveying technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of surveying practices and data management systems within the organisation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in land surveying and valuation.
  • Proficiency in advanced land surveying techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong command of CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS platforms (ArcGIS).
  • Expertise in processing and interpreting geospatial data, including 3D modelling.
  • Solid understanding of property valuation principles, methodologies, and relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for comprehensive report writing and effective client interaction.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Valid UK Driving License and willingness to travel to various project sites across the region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • RICS Accreditation (Associate or Chartered status).
  • Experience with laser scanning, drone surveying, and point cloud data processing.
  • Familiarity with local planning policies, property law, and environmental regulations in Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
  • Demonstrated project management experience within surveying or land development projects.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Surveying, Geospatial Science, Real Estate, or a closely related field.
