Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction layout surveys using advanced surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, levels).
  • Prepare and verify survey data, field notes, calculations, and detailed survey reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) and GIS software to process, analyze, and present spatial data effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure accurate interpretation and application of survey data throughout project lifecycles.
  • Perform stringent quality control checks on survey data and instruments to maintain unparalleled precision and accuracy.
  • Research and interpret legal descriptions, land records, and historical survey data for property boundary determinations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with local surveying standards, environmental regulations, and company safety protocols on all project sites.
  • Manage, calibrate, and maintain surveying equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and readiness for deployment.
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built surveys, final project documentation, and contribute to project completion reports.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in operating and calibrating modern surveying instruments (Total Stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, levels).
  • Strong command of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar CAD software for drafting, design, and data manipulation.
  • Expertise in data processing and analysis using industry-standard surveying software.
  • Thorough understanding of land surveying principles, geodesy, cartography, and mapping techniques.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and legal land documents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous eye for detail and precision.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration, client interaction, and report generation.
  • Valid Mauritian driver's license with a clean driving record, as frequent travel to various project sites is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Professional registration or certification as a Land Surveyor in Mauritius (or working towards it).
  • Experience with drone surveying and photogrammetry techniques for advanced data acquisition.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for comprehensive spatial analysis and mapping projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of local Mauritian land laws, regulations, and planning policies.
