Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, including patching, updates, and performance tuning.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure maximum uptime and availability.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
- Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect company data and systems.
- Administer virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to end-users for hardware, software, and network related problems.
- Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and rapid restoration.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve system efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs).
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware ESXi/vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience with firewall management.
- Demonstrable experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management.
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and system management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, CompTIA Server+, CCNA).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
