Job Description
This role isn’t just about fixing things; it’s about proactively building and maintaining the foundational technology that powers Career.zycto. As a Systems Administrator focused on maintenance and setup, you will be a critical part of our IT operations team, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our server infrastructure, network devices, and critical applications, from initial deployment and configuration to ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our Windows and Linux server environments, managing virtualized platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and administering cloud resources (Azure/AWS, if applicable). This involves regular system updates, patch management, performance tuning, and capacity planning. A key aspect of your role will be the setup and configuration of new hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and adherence to our security policies and best practices. You will document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps thoroughly to ensure knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
Beyond daily operations, you will contribute to strategic planning for IT infrastructure improvements, identifying potential risks and recommending solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud resources.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including applying patches, upgrades, and security configurations.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime and availability of all IT infrastructure.
- Manage network services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory) and ensure network connectivity and security.
- Develop and implement robust backup and recovery procedures, regularly testing their effectiveness.
- Administer and maintain storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and data integrity.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff for system-related issues.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures comprehensively.
- Collaborate with other IT team members on projects, system upgrades, and strategic planning.
- Ensure adherence to security policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell).
- Experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
- Solid understanding and experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls).
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+).
