As a Systems Analyst focusing on IT Infrastructure, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our operational requirements and our technical capabilities. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting complex IT infrastructure solutions, encompassing servers, networking, storage, virtualisation, cloud services, and cybersecurity measures. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with a meticulous approach to systems analysis and design. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of business requirements to design and implement robust IT infrastructure solutions.
- Plan, install, configure, and maintain server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Administer and optimize network infrastructure components, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Manage storage area networks (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Participate in cloud infrastructure initiatives (Azure, AWS) from a design and support perspective.
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system health and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT infrastructure issues, providing advanced technical support.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors on infrastructure projects and service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to IT security policies, compliance standards, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements within the IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff where required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or similar role with a focus on IT Infrastructure.
- Proven expertise in Windows Server operating systems, including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls) and protocols.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware ESXi, vCenter, or Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in managing and optimizing storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VCP, ITIL).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and tools.
