Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough systems analysis to understand current business processes, identify pain points, and gather detailed requirements for new or enhanced systems.
- Translate business requirements into clear, concise, and comprehensive technical specifications, user stories, and functional design documents.
- Collaborate closely with developers, quality assurance testers, project managers, and end-users throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
- Design and develop prototypes, mock-ups, and user interface specifications to visualize proposed solutions and gather feedback.
- Perform data analysis and modeling to support system design and integration efforts.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and review of system testing, ensuring solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for existing systems, addressing issues and implementing improvements.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to elicit, validate, and prioritize requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in systems analysis and design.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including system manuals, user guides, and training materials.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or in a similar role.
- Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Proficiency in creating flowcharts, diagrams, and other visual aids for system documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with database concepts and SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with specific enterprise resource planning (ERP) or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Knowledge of business process modeling notation (BPMN).
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis).
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset for the Montreal market.
