Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior tailors with garment preparation, measuring, cutting, and pinning.
- Perform basic sewing tasks, including hemming, mending, and minor alterations, using both hand-stitching and sewing machines.
- Learn to operate and maintain various sewing machines and other workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the workshop, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Sort and prepare fabrics, threads, and other materials for upcoming projects.
- Attend training sessions and actively participate in learning new techniques and procedures.
- Observe and shadow experienced tailors to understand complex garment construction and alteration processes.
- Develop a strong understanding of different fabric types, their properties, and appropriate handling methods.
- Take accurate measurements of clients under supervision and learn fitting techniques.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting with fittings and delivering finished garments when required.
- Contribute to inventory management by keeping track of supplies and reporting needs.
