Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced tailors and seamstresses with various tasks.
  • Prepare garments for alterations, including marking, pinning, and basting.
  • Perform basic hand sewing tasks such as hemming, mending, and button attachment.
  • Operate industrial sewing machines for simple tasks under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including tidying work stations and managing fabric scraps.
  • Organize and manage tailoring supplies, including threads, fabrics, and notions.
  • Assist with customer interactions, including greeting clients, directing them to fitting rooms, and handling garments with care.
  • Press and steam garments to ensure a professional finish.
  • Help with inventory management and receiving new supplies.
  • Learn and apply best practices for garment care and alteration techniques.
