Key Responsibilities
- Conduct property appraisals for residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural properties.
- Analyze sales data, income, and cost approaches to determine fair market value.
- Inspect properties to verify characteristics, condition, and improvements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date property records, including legal descriptions, ownership, and zoning.
- Utilize GIS, CAMA, and other assessment software to perform duties efficiently.
- Respond to inquiries from property owners, real estate agents, and the public regarding property assessments and tax laws.
- Prepare and present valuation evidence for appeals before assessment review boards.
- Stay current with state and local property tax laws, regulations, and appraisal methodologies.
- Collaborate with other government agencies and departments as required.
- Assist in the preparation of annual assessment rolls.
