Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and complete T1 Personal Income Tax Returns for individuals and families.
- Prepare simple T2 Corporate Income Tax Returns and T4/T4A/T5 slips for small businesses as required.
- Conduct thorough client interviews to gather all necessary financial information, ensuring no deductions or credits are missed.
- Provide clear, concise explanations of tax laws, forms, and filing procedures to clients.
- Utilize professional tax preparation software proficiently and accurately.
- Review client-provided documents for accuracy and completeness, identifying any discrepancies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information.
- Stay updated on changes in Canadian tax laws and regulations (CRA).
- Assist clients with CRA inquiries and resolve basic tax-related issues.
- Contribute to a positive and professional office environment during peak season.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Canadian personal income tax preparation.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., TaxCycle, UFile, Profile).
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws (T1, T4, T4A, T5).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
