Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport passengers to their destinations within Brighton & Hove and surrounding areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting passengers with luggage and ensuring a comfortable journey.
- Utilize our dispatch system and navigation tools to accept bookings, plan optimal routes, and manage ride coordination.
- Maintain a clean, presentable, and well-maintained vehicle at all times, conducting daily checks.
- Adhere strictly to all local traffic laws, regulations, and company policies, including licensing requirements.
- Handle passenger payments accurately and efficiently, using both cash and card payment systems.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, colleagues, and passengers to resolve any issues or coordinate special requests.
- Ensure passenger safety and comfort, including assisting with accessibility needs where required.
- Manage time effectively to meet pickup schedules and estimated arrival times.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence (minimum 3 years held)
- Brighton & Hove Private Hire or Hackney Carriage Licence (or ability to obtain one prior to starting)
- Excellent driving record with no major endorsements
- Comprehensive knowledge of Brighton & Hove's roads, landmarks, and traffic patterns
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation and mobile-based dispatch applications
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a licensed taxi or private hire driver
- NVQ in Road Passenger Transport or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of multiple languages
- First Aid certification
