Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lessons and educational activities.
- Provide individualized or small group instruction to students needing extra support or enrichment.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Monitor student behavior and assist in classroom management, promoting positive social interactions.
- Prepare instructional materials, visual aids, and classroom displays as directed by the teacher.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, and field trips.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and concerns.
- Support students with special needs by adapting activities and providing accommodations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as grading papers, record-keeping, and organizing student portfolios.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with educational software.
- Ability to follow directions and implement classroom strategies effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
