Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant educational team in Vilankulo, Inhambane Province. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging instructional activities and lessons.
- Provide individualized and small group support to students, reinforcing learning concepts and addressing specific academic needs.
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, disciplined learning environment.
- Prepare and organize teaching materials, visual aids, and classroom resources.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, and other school-related events.
- Support students with special educational needs, adapting strategies as directed by the lead teacher.
- Assist with grading assignments, recording progress, and maintaining student records.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and students regarding academic progress and behavioral observations.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school events as required.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Grade 12 certificate)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an educational or childcare setting
- Proficiency in Portuguese (written and spoken)
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children and young adults
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Experience with diverse learning styles and special education needs
- First Aid and CPR certification
