Key Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
- Help prepare learning materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible, stimulating, and age-appropriate.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an additional language (EAL) to access the curriculum effectively.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour, promoting a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise students during lesson times, breaks, lunch periods, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Observe and report on student progress, achievements, and challenges to the class teacher, contributing to assessment.
- Contribute to the assessment of student learning and maintain accurate records as required by school policies.
- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing atmosphere where all students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to learn.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and displaying student work.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR B2 level or equivalent).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic understanding of child development and learning processes.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage classroom resources efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent).
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or childcare setting (volunteer or paid).
- Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
