Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and passionate Technical Writer to join our growing team in Portsmouth, England. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who excels at translating intricate technical concepts into easily digestible, precise, and user-friendly documentation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our diverse audience—from developers to end-users—can effortlessly understand and utilize our innovative products and services. As a Technical Writer, you will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and support teams across the development lifecycle, contributing to user manuals, API documentation, online help systems, release notes, and more. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, integration guides, release notes, and online help.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, engineering, quality assurance, and customer support teams to gather information and ensure accuracy.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences.
  • Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product changes and enhancements.
  • Establish and enforce documentation standards, terminology, and style guides to ensure consistency.
  • Participate in product planning and design discussions to identify documentation needs early in the development cycle.
  • Manage documentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress to meet deadlines.
  • Continuously research and learn about new product features, technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer or similar role within a technology-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong grasp of grammar, style, and syntax.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Markdown, GitBook, Read the Docs, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous technical writing work.
  • Experience working with software development teams and understanding of SDLC.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or other web technologies.
