Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic cables, copper lines, broadband networks, and wireless systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to network connectivity, equipment malfunctions, and service interruptions.
- Perform preventative maintenance on telecommunications infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Respond to service calls and emergency repairs, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Document all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly, using relevant software and tools.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices at all times.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and other technicians to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
- Provide clear and concise technical support and guidance to customers, explaining complex issues in an understandable manner.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Telecommunications Technician or in a similar field-based technical role.
- Strong understanding of telecommunication principles, network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP), and cabling standards (e.g., CAT5/6, fiber optic).
- Proficiency in using testing equipment such as OTDR, power meters, fusion splicers, and multimeters.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and detailed blueprints accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Valid German driver's license (Class B) and a willingness to travel regularly within the designated service area.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or professional certification in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or a closely related technical field.
