Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Terminal Manager to lead our critical operations in Fulda, Hesse. This pivotal full-time role places you at the heart of our logistics network, overseeing the daily management and strategic development of our busy terminal. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily terminal operations, including freight handling, storage, loading, and unloading, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, including dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse personnel, fostering a positive and safe work environment.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and relevant local and national compliance standards.
- Manage terminal budget, control expenses, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, carriers, and internal departments to resolve operational issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and inventory, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (5+ years) in terminal management or a senior operational role within logistics/transportation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of motivating and developing staff.
- Excellent understanding of logistics, supply chain principles, and transportation regulations.
- Proficiency in terminal management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated financial acumen and experience with budget management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or lean Six Sigma.
- Fluency in German (written and spoken) due to the location.
- Experience with intermodal freight operations.
