Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our growing team in Kitchener, Ontario. As a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our innovative software products. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and other QA engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems, working closely with development teams for resolution.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand project requirements and provide feedback on design and functionality.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Provide clear and concise test reports and status updates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues and recommend preventative measures.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in creating comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, JMeter).
  • Solid understanding of SQL for database testing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent.
