Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating theatre for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and instruments are sterile and readily available.
  • Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during operations, anticipating needs and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting all patient care activities accurately.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain and enhance clinical skills.

Required Skills

  • Valid nursing license (German recognition preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Theatre Nurse or in an acute surgical setting
  • Proficiency in surgical asepsis and sterile technique
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialist qualification in perioperative nursing or anaesthesia/intensive care nursing
  • Fluency in German (B2 level or higher)
  • Experience with various surgical specialities (e.g., general surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery)
  • Familiarity with modern theatre equipment and technologies
