Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Theatre Nurse to join a prestigious healthcare team in Altenessen, Essen. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating theatre, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and readily available.
  • Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures, including scrubbing in, circulating, and ensuring adherence to sterile techniques.
  • Monitor patients' physiological signs during surgery and provide immediate assistance in emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, documenting all aspects of care provided before, during, and after surgery.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout their perioperative experience, offering reassurance and clear communication.
  • Perform pre-operative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
  • Participate in post-operative care, including safe transfer of patients to recovery and providing handover reports.
  • Manage and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring their proper use, cleaning, sterilization, and storage.
  • Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and infection control protocols.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing professional development.

Required Skills

  • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification, recognized in Germany (e.g., Gesundheits- und Krankenpfleger/in)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Theatre Nurse or in an operating room setting
  • Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in German (B2 level or higher)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Team player with a collaborative approach to patient care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialist qualification in Operating Room Nursing (Fachkrankenpfleger/in für den Operationsdienst) or equivalent
  • Experience with a variety of surgical specialities (e.g., general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology)
  • Familiarity with modern surgical technologies and equipment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
