Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of stage equipment, scenery, lighting fixtures, and sound systems for rehearsals and performances.
- Operate and monitor technical equipment, including lighting consoles, sound mixers, and projection systems, during live events.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and basic repairs on theatrical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Support the loading and unloading of stage equipment, props, and other production materials.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, protocols, and best practices within the theatre environment.
- Collaborate effectively with directors, designers, stage managers, and other crew members to achieve artistic and technical objectives.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues promptly and efficiently during productions to minimize disruptions.
- Assist with the implementation of special effects (e.g., fog, pyrotechnics, automation) as directed and trained.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe backstage and storage area.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year proven experience as a theatre technician, stagehand, or in a similar live event technical role.
- Proficiency in operating and programming theatrical lighting consoles (e.g., ETC, MA Lighting).
- Solid understanding of sound reinforcement principles and experience with digital audio mixers (e.g., Yamaha, Behringer).
- Basic knowledge of stage rigging, flying systems, and counterweight operations.
- Familiarity with theatrical safety protocols, equipment handling, and risk assessment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plots, and production schedules.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 25 kg) and work in various stage environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in theatrical production, technical theatre, or a related field.
- Experience with video projection mapping and multimedia server operation.
- Knowledge of stage automation systems.
- Valid First Aid and/or relevant safety certifications.
