Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and customer-focused Ticketing Officer to join our dynamic team in Redcliff, Midlands Province. As a Ticketing Officer, you will be one of the primary front-line ambassadors of ZUPCO, playing a crucial role in ensuring a seamless, efficient, and positive experience for our valued passengers. Key Responsibilities

  • Process ticket sales accurately and efficiently using the company's designated ticketing system.
  • Handle cash transactions, electronic payments, and ensure daily reconciliation of all sales.
  • Provide comprehensive and accurate information to passengers regarding bus routes, schedules, fares, and available services.
  • Assist passengers with booking inquiries, modifications, cancellations, and re-scheduling requests in a courteous manner.
  • Address passenger concerns and resolve issues promptly, or escalate complex problems to supervisors when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional ticketing counter and workstation environment.
  • Generate daily sales reports, transaction summaries, and other administrative documents as required by management.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, operational procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Contribute positively to a cohesive team environment and support colleagues as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all ZUPCO services, promotions, changes to routes, and fare adjustments.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience of at least 1-2 years in a customer service or cash handling role, demonstrating reliability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and at least one predominant local language (e.g., Shona or Ndebele).
  • Strong numerical aptitude, ensuring accuracy in handling cash and processing transactions.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive, customer-centric approach to addressing passenger needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A certificate or diploma in Travel & Tourism, Business Administration, Front Office Operations, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with computerized ticketing software or reservation systems.
  • Prior experience specifically within the public transport, aviation, or hospitality industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in additional local Zimbabwean languages.
