Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain various tile cutting equipment (wet saws, manual cutters, grinders) safely and efficiently.
  • Measure and mark tiles accurately according to project specifications and patterns.
  • Prepare tiles for installation, including cleaning, sorting, and staging materials.
  • Assist lead tile setters with material handling, mixing grout, and general site organization.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform quality checks on cut tiles to ensure precision and minimize waste.
  • Support the overall tiling team to ensure project deadlines are met effectively.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly to the supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and understand basic measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating tile cutting equipment or similar power tools.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic knowledge of different tile types and materials (e.g., ceramic, porcelain, natural stone).
  • First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
