Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying waterproofing membranes or backer boards.
- Measure and mark surfaces to lay out work according to blueprints or specifications.
- Cut and shape tiles to fit around obstacles and into corners using wet saws, tile cutters, and nippers.
- Apply adhesive (mortar or mastic) to surfaces and/or tiles, ensuring even coverage.
- Lay tiles in a systematic pattern, ensuring proper alignment, spacing, and leveling.
- Fill joints with grout and clean excess grout from tile surfaces.
- Install decorative elements such as borders, trim, and accents.
- Inspect finished work for quality, consistency, and adherence to design specifications.
- Remove and dispose of old tiles and debris responsibly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other team members.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in cutting and laying various tile types (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic)
- Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques
- Expertise in grout application and finishing
