Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying waterproof membranes or levelling compounds.
- Accurately measure and cut tiles (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, etc.) to fit specific areas and patterns.
- Apply adhesives and lay tiles in a precise and consistent manner, ensuring correct alignment and spacing.
- Grout and seal tiled surfaces to achieve a waterproof and aesthetically pleasing finish.
- Remove and dispose of old tiling and debris responsibly.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure project success.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations on all job sites.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine tiling requirements.
- Perform quality checks on finished work and address any imperfections.
- Maintain tools and equipment in excellent working condition.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Tiler or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in all aspects of wall and floor tiling.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Excellent knowledge of various tiling materials and their application.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for demanding tasks.
- Valid UK driving license and access to transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Tiling or an equivalent qualification.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Experience with specialist tiling projects (e.g., wet rooms, swimming pools, intricate patterns).
- Portfolio of previous tiling work showcasing diverse skills.
