Job Description

As a Toolpusher, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all operational activities on the drilling rig, reporting directly to the Drilling Superintendent. Your comprehensive responsibilities will encompass everything from meticulous management of the daily drilling plan, strategic coordination of personnel and equipment, to the rigorous enforcement of all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all daily drilling operations on the rig, ensuring adherence to the drilling program and company procedures.
- Implement and enforce stringent Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Direct and supervise drilling crew, including drillers, assistant drillers, and floor hands, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure seamless operations and prevent delays.
- Monitor drilling parameters, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections of drilling equipment and tools to ensure proper function and safety compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive daily drilling reports, incident reports, and other necessary documentation.
- Liaise effectively with the Drilling Superintendent, client representatives, and third-party contractors.
- Mentor and train junior drilling personnel, facilitating their professional development and skill enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in drilling operations, with at least 3 years in a Toolpusher or similar supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and ability to implement robust safety protocols.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse crew.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Proficiency in operational planning, reporting, and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Valid drilling industry certifications (e.g., IWCF/IADC Well Control, First Aid, H2S).
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree or vocational qualification in Drilling Technology or a related field.
- Experience with advanced drilling technologies and automation systems.
- Familiarity with German industrial safety standards and local regulations.
- Additional language skills (e.g., German) are a plus.
- Experience working on various types of drilling rigs (e.g., land rigs, offshore rigs).
