Key Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Respond promptly to dispatch calls for roadside assistance, accidents, and vehicle transport.
- Assess vehicle damage and determine the safest method for towing or recovery.
- Secure vehicles properly for transport using appropriate chains, straps, and dollies.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks on assigned tow trucks.
- Complete all required paperwork and digital logs accurately, including incident reports and service tickets.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, customers, and law enforcement.
- Provide exceptional customer service, offering reassurance and assistance to distressed motorists.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist with basic roadside diagnostics and minor repairs when appropriate (e.g., jump starts, tire changes).
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not always required for light/medium duty).
- Proven experience operating tow trucks (light, medium, or heavy-duty).
- Strong knowledge of towing and recovery techniques and safety procedures.
- Excellent spatial awareness and vehicle maneuvering skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Class A or B.
- WreckMaster or similar certification.
- Experience with various types of towing equipment and vehicle recovery scenarios.
- Familiarity with the Wheat Ridge and greater Denver metropolitan area road network.
- Previous experience in a roadside assistance or emergency services role.
