Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tram vehicles safely and efficiently according to prescribed routes and timetables.
  • Adhere strictly to all operational procedures, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct pre-service vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, including assisting those with special needs.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, providing clear and concise information regarding routes, stops, and delays.
  • Maintain radio contact with the control centre to report incidents, delays, or emergencies.
  • Handle ticketing and fare collection procedures, if applicable.
  • Respond calmly and professionally to unexpected situations or emergencies on board.
  • Complete accurate daily operational logs and incident reports.
  • Uphold the highest standards of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK driving licence (Category B minimum, additional categories beneficial)
  • Excellent spatial awareness and coordination.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in public transport operation (e.g., bus driver, train operator, HGV driver).
