Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and drivers for local and regional deliveries.
  • Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination, providing real-time updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal departments regarding shipment status, delays, and issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transportation activities, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
  • Support the resolution of transportation-related problems, such as route changes, vehicle breakdowns, or delivery discrepancies.
  • Assist in optimizing delivery routes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare and process necessary documentation for shipments, including waybills, invoices, and customs forms.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
  • Learn and effectively utilize transportation management software and other relevant systems.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a post-secondary certificate or diploma is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
