Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily routes for transport vehicles, optimizing for efficiency and timely deliveries.
- Dispatch drivers and assign loads, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company procedures.
- Monitor vehicle movements and driver performance using tracking systems.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams regarding schedules, delays, and issues.
- Address and resolve operational problems, such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, and delivery changes, in real-time.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, road transport laws, and company policies.
- Process paperwork related to shipments, deliveries, and driver logs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for dispatch operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) experience in a transport dispatch or logistics coordination role.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong geographical knowledge, particularly of the UK road network.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and ability to make quick decisions.
